At the Lynn Lewis Foundation, we understand that cancer affects the entire family. Children will experience a parent’s cancer diagnosis in a different way and with different emotions than adults. Cancer is not an easy topic to speak about and parents sometimes try to avoid the topic, fearing they will place too much pressure on their children. The Foundation’s approach is to provide a supportive environment for all to allow everyone to receive some type of relief. We seek to build a community with other children who share similar circumstances and feelings in order to allow for peer connections.
The Lynn Lewis Foundation provides free services such as support groups, summer camps, education and fun events that allow the children to have a break from their parent’s diagnosis.
